My nervous system went into rest/digest/relax as soon as we went through the gates. It’s amazing how much of a difference being in a peaceful place facilitates healing. Its beautiful, it’s alive, it’s fun, it’s growing, it’s an adventure.

Going to The Rest offers you a profound opportunity for contemplating and finding resonances with your life, for making shifts or appreciating your life as it is. You leave ready to step more fully into yourself and your life.

If you have any reservations, just do it. Being so far from city civilisation in a natural environment, to be so well looked after, with only yourself to worry about and without needing to attend to your own practical needs, is a huge gift. It creates space to immerse yourself in your own processes, and gives you the privilege of witnessing and supporting others in their process.

Your heart will soften, open and grow.
The spaces between the sessions offered special time to spend with other participants to process, or share experiences, almost in a respectful continuation of the space being held during the sessions. It was also easy to step out of that communal space and go for a walk on the farm, or retreat to your bed.
My expectations were exceeded, not met.

I never anticipated the constellating processes to give so much emotional insight. It’s one thing gaining intellectual or cognitive insight into one’s issues, but very difficult to get such instant and deep emotional revelations in therapy. Incredible and magical.

Getting to The Rest
We are half way between Cape Town and Johannesberg (about 8 hours in either direction) half an hour off the N9 highway. We are an hour from Graaff-Reinet and 25 minutes from Nieu Bethesda.

To Drive: Email us for directions and check on the current state of the road and how your car will fare on the dirt roads.

Carpool to workshops: Join the event on the Facebook page and see who is keen to carpool. Email us to put you in touch with other drivers coming from your area.

Bus: Both Intercape and Translux stop in Graaff-Reinet. We will arrange to pick you up from the bus station and bring you to the farm directly or via a guest house (buses usually arrive at awkward times in the late or early hours.)
Email us to arrange this.

Fly: Catch a flight to Port Elizabeth and hire car to drive to the farm (this is a four hour drive).
Co-ordinate with other workshop participants who want to do the same. Email us for directions.
